Report from the Front Lines:So here it is Monday morning. Another fun weekend of fighting viruses. I keep ripping out * $ @ % #
Cool Web Search $ % # ! Trojans and they are back before I am done.
- The only thing that made the weekend livable was the AFI screening of Dream on Silly Dreamer and the news that it will be out on DVD in about 6 weeks. Stay tuned for more info. This is a DVD that every animation teacher needs and every animator should want.
The list of extras is impressive including footage from the Alex screening (which was more like a wrap party for Disney 2-D feature animation) and most of the footage from the interviews. There will be a list of the Film Festivals that turned down or cancelled Dreamer screenings and there is talk of DVD launch party.
- Keep watching the skies or at least this space. Word is that ASIFA has a screening of Corpse Bride scheduled.
- This Wednesday is the ASIFA volunteer`s meeting.
August 31st
7 PM
2114 W. Burbank Blvd
Burbank, CA
This is the meeting where ASIFA happens. Things to be covered include the Archives project, the Annies, upcoming screenings, and future projects under development. There will be pizza and networking and good times.
- Tonight is my second meeting with my Cal State Fullerton History of Animation class. Looks like a good group of students, mostly Animation and illustration students and one art history student. A talented group all. Tonight it is Bray and McCay and Starewicz. I`m looking forward to it.
